Red Ring of Death...

so i was playing some games today and my screen started getting all fuzzy. So i gave it a break and did some other things and a couple hours later i came back and it was still happening. So i decided to unplug it and plug it back in and turn it on. Well when i turned it back on it gave me the red ring and a lovely little error code "E 74"... i contacted costumer services and they said i need to ship my xbox to them... two wonderful little details are that it takes 14 to 21 days to fix and its no longer under warranty... So it might be awhile before i see you guys on XBL... FML.

That sucks man!! Ive gotten the red rings of death twice and it sucks. I just got my 360 Elite back from being repaired. I went and bought an arcade model and threw my HD on it to continue playing. But either way it always sucks when you get the red rings. Hopefully you can get it fixed soon if not we'll see you on XBL when you do!

I'm on my 8th Xbox. I've gotten the red rings three times, two rings once for fan failure in my elite system. This is all why I own a PS3. I gave up on Microsoft after my 4th system I think but all my friends were on XBL and the PSN network sucks. So I went out and got another, that was the elite that had the fan failure which wasn't covered by warranty so I went to go get another one. Brought it home, plugged it up.. instant red ring, took it back got another. Long story short when my last one red ringed I bought a second as a backup. So when this one eventually dies I'll have a backup. It sucks.

haha wow kurupt you have great luck with microsoft.. they must know you by name now haha. but yea it sucks bad. i hope they can fix it fast and get it back to me asap. i just hope they fix the problem and i dont get it again for a long time if ever. that would be pretty nice. but oh well. ill just keep up with the clan on here and hope nothing to cool happens on live while im out haha.

lame lol good luck i had it once, and no warranty like you.. i sent it off and they gave me a brand new one back instead of fixing it lol

i would be perfectly fine with a new one haha. but it hopefully is going to be covered under the extended warranty.. but who knows..

i dont see why they havnt fixed this... btw my elite is really loud,u can tell its the fan. i also have it standing up, i fgures it was better circulation then. does anyone else have this?

I don't mean to put a scare in you, but the fan on mine started running really loud right before the fan went out. Although my Elite system was the only one that didn't get the RROD.

it was loud the day out of the box. if it happens it happens. but i wont be going out buying a second system while that one is getting fixed lol.

Now that I think of it my Elite system seemed to have a louder fan.. But mine broke down with the RROD.

Is the fan supposed to be loud normally?

My elite's fan is rather loud, and before my old one got RROD it was loud, but i've always remembered it being loud anyways.

Woo my xbox is on its way home and my dazzle came in today! my xbox should be here next week so next weekend we have to get some games in. maybe some inner clan games if we get enough people

well i now have my xbox back so if i finish all my homework soon enough i might be able to get on tonight! itll probably be around 8 or 9 pacific time. and i wont be able to stay on late. hope to see you guys on live soon!
